Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is calling out left-wing progressives by saying the Senate will hold a vote on the controversial Green New Deal.

The Hill reports McConnell told reporters after a meeting of the Senate Republican caucus that he has “great interest” in the plan, which calls for an end to air travel, cars, cows, coal, and more while costing tens of trillions of dollars.

While McConnell did not say when the vote would happen, he said he wanted to “give everybody an opportunity to go on record and see how they feel about the Green New Deal.”

Several Democrats who are running for President in 2020 have backed the deal. Republicans have largely mocked the proposal.
