Despite a partial government shutdown with no end in sight, about 30 Democratic members of Congress traveled to Puerto Rico this weekend via chartered jets -- with their families and lobbyists -- for a winter retreat where they also planned to see a special performance of the hit Broadway show “Hamilton.”

Fox News reports dozens of Democrats descended on San Juan to attend the Congressional Hispanic Caucus BOLD PAC gathering, they said to discuss with Puerto Rican officials ongoing cleanup efforts from Hurricane Maria.

But it wasn’t all work as the Dems stayed at a seaside resort where rooms run around $429 a night, attended a special performance of “Hamilton” along with an after party with the cast, and hit the beach.
