Amazing Grace is a wonderful gift from our Lord we love to sing about. One day daddy was picking a song out on the banjo one day, when I asked him what he was playing. He smiled and said Amazing Grace. I liked his version which is in a bluegrass style and we pray that you will enjoy it too. Godbless.
This song was written after Minister Johnson went to a funeral. He was sitting in the back of the church. As people were getting up speacking about the person who had past away. The Holy Spirit asked Minister Johnson, What will they say about you. The Holy Spirit within 1 earthly second, took Minister Johnson over his entire life. Minister Johnson didn't like what he saw. He knew he had to change it. This is where the song came from. Written by: Lamont C. Johnson
Without too many mistakes, I at last recorded this song I wrote for my Dad after he died. I am not very good at the 'one man band' thing, so don't listen to closely. I recorded it from my keyboard (since I don't have a band or studio). It is hard to concentrate on singing when you are constantly pushing buttons the whole time. Anyway enough excuses here it is....
This is an old folk song that has evolved to fit various occasions. Daddy is a veteran of the 11th Airborne Division during the Korean war. As we discussed this morning what a fitting song would be for veteran's day on this 11-11-11, I suggested "I Shall Not Be Moved" as is written in our church hymnal. He agreed it would be a fitting song. Therefore, to all our veterans from time past to time present ... we dedicate this song, "I Shall Not Be Moved" in your honor. Godbless.
