A Song of Praise

Listen to ‘Life On It’ by TobyMac and Sarah Reeves in this official lyric video. TobyMac released a new album in 2022, two years after the tragic passing of his oldest son. In the midst of his grief, he honestly didn’t know if he would ever perform again. However, God met TobyMac in his grief, and through his journey of healing, he learned to put his life on God’s truths.

As the song begins, TobyMac sings of his unwavering commitment to God. No matter what comes his way, he will always remain in Christ: 

“You're my way and my truth, I'm a disciple of You
Through the highs and the lows, my heart will always stay true
They could put me in chains, they could lock me away
They would slay me in vain, I will always remain”

This groovy song deals with the depths of pain, needs, and struggles while reminding us God is with us as he walks through the valleys and mountaintops. TobyMac praises how Christ died for us and we can put our lives on his sacrifice and truth! He also shares tangible and relatable moments in his life where he was walking a path of grief. 

We all can relate to moments in our lives when something unexpected or tragic happens that leave us reeling and wondering why God would allow it. We will never know the answer on this side of heaven why God allows circumstances and situations. But we do know God will work things together for our good and his glory. 

We are all faced with a decision: live for Christ or die for nothing. But the truth at its core is that we would rather live for Christ than get distracted by meaningless things here on earth. The key is keeping our eyes on Christ and our hearts saturated in his promises. We hope is song rejuvenated the fire within you to keep living a life dedicated to Jesus! 

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain,” Philippians 1:21.

A former American Idol contestant and Christian music artist brought his family up on the stage for a surprise performance during a stop in Indiana.

Family is another in a long line of ways the Lord blesses and touches our lives. Those are the people who are there whenever things are at their worst. They can be counted on for help, safety, guidance and an encouraging word. No matter what happens, they will always be around, never leaving for supposed greener pastures. 

In a clip posted on YouTube, Colton Dixon brought his wife and two little girls onto the stage during a stop in Winona Lake, Indiana. Near the beginning of the clip, Colton disappears off the stage, and it’s unclear what is happening. 

But seconds later, he emerges leading one of his children by the hand on stage. His wife and other little girl follow closely behind. The audience reacts with a collective “aww” at the sight of the young family. Colton introduces the two precious children and his wife to the crowd.

It's unclear what is going to happen next as Colton and his band go into the next song. Not even Colton is 100 percent sure what happens next.

“We’re gonna start the next song, and I don’t know what I’m gonna play or what I’m not going to play,” he tells the musicians on stage.

He then goes into a performance of “Can’t Quit You.” Throughout the performance, Colton serenades his two young children. 

“I’d say it’s easy for me to quit most things, but I can’t quit you
I could give it up and go my own way, but I can’t follow through
Every time I think about us, think about the reasons why
I know it’s time for giving up on giving up, but I gotta try”

The little girls even throw in a few subtle dance steps, moving slightly as their father sings. 
The crowd erupts in a thunderous round of applause following the performance.

One young singer-songwriter performed an original song about her transformation and journey from an atheist to a Christian.

The world is often a dangerous, dark and lonely place. Sadly, the world is full of lost people living in their sin and shame. Those individuals have no concept of the freedom and love that comes with having a personal relationship with the Creator of the universe. 

Olivia Lane was one of those people lost and living in sin. She was an atheist, choosing to believe that God did not exist and did not have a plan for her life. Now, in a video posted on Instagram, Olivia sings about her journey from a non-believer to someone who now knows Jesus Christ.

In the song’s opening line, Oliva mentions hearing two distinct thoughts and ideas when she was still an atheist. She states how people would tell her about a God who loved her unconditionally, but in the same breath, they told her how God was also angry and vengeful. They told her about fearing God. 

This resulted in Olivia becoming fearful of God, afraid to do something that would anger Him. But eventually, as she sings, she did find God through her tears and on her knees in prayer.

“But through these tears here on my knees
I’m begging you to come around
Then the God I learned to fear
You showed up and made it clear that You were there in the darkness”

In the caption to the video, Olivia states how she did not grow up in the church, and hearing about this conception of fearing God left her confused and scared.

“In talking with a lot of friends who grew up in the church, unlike me, they also struggled with understanding the true sentiment of the fear of God,” Olivia wrote. “Now having a better understanding of it, I can see how it’s a confusing topic if someone doesn’t teach you the biblical understanding of it.”

2 Timothy 1:7 “For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of self-control.”

As the band begins to play, a group of worship leaders are on the stage standing in reverence and praise to our God. A woman with a precious countenance and an even sweeter voice begins to sing. Anna leads in a song of adoration to the Lord. She asks God to take us higher. 

These lyrics are an anthem to motivate our hearts and lives that God is still working and His Spirit is still moving. We are invited to call on Him and ask for a fresh revival to see Him work and move through us. 

This melody line gets everyone singing along with them to this catchy fresh worship song. Anna and the band are reminding us that there is more than this world has to offer, we have the kingdom of Heaven in our hearts and a future hope of heaven.

The bridge encourages us that the Lord has no limits to what He can do. When we surrender our lives and our callings to the Savior, He can work in miraculous and wonderful ways. He is always moving and working up His greater plan, but His invitation is for us to follow Him and be a part of His gospel work. 

As you join in with this song of praise today, be motivated that the Lord is not finished with you and He has much more in store for those who love Him.

Listen to Christian singer and artist Chris Llewellyn perform an inspiring song titled  ‘Mother’s House.’ Let his descriptive words of a mother’s love wrap you in a warm embrace as you thank God for your own mother and how her love is a mirror of our Heavenly Fathers. 

The native from Ireland is the founding member of the platinum-selling worship band Rend Collective. He recently released his first solo album titled, ‘Honest’ which includes ‘Gamble Your Goodness,’ and today’s beautiful song, ‘Mother’s House.” 

When he first sat down to write about God’s love, he couldn’t help but circle back to his own mother. He reflected on how his mother loved him unconditionally. She was his source of peace, comfort, and belonging as a child. Chris couldn’t help but see how his mother mirrored the love of God.

If we are blessed to have a good mother, we experience unconditional love, guidance, and comfort. No matter where we are in life, we know we can always go home. And when we walk through the front door, we will be welcomed and celebrated. We rest in the knowledge we are fully known and wanted. In this breathtaking song that captures the essence of motherhood, Chris weaves the awe-astounding truth of how God loves every single one of His children. 

We may never comprehend the depth of God’s love but we can rejoice in knowing we are fully known, wanted, and loved by the Creator of the universe. We hope this song warmed your heart today.
