Javon Johnson isn’t shy about sharing his faith in an exclusive sit-down interview with Crosswalk. "My faith is important and everything to me," he says, explaining what keeps him going in an industry where faith isn’t always discussed. Johnson, known to many as one of the lead characters in Tyler Perry's television show The Oval, wants it to be clear that being an actor is what he does, but it’s not who he is.

"Not until I got to college did I even think about becoming an actor," Johnson reveals. He emphasizes that his faith and family background, growing up in the deep South of South Carolina, have shaped him into the person he is today. Johnson wants everyone to know that his faith and love for Jesus are the core of his identity and have made him who he is.
